Bydd y cyfarfod yn galluogi myfyrwyr i lob\u00efo&#8217;r Undeb i newid polisi, ac yn fforwm i drafod newidiadau polisi ac i bleidleisio ar y newidiadau sydd yn yr agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Er mwyn iddo fynd ymlaen bydd angen o leiaf 100 myfyriwr i ddod i\u2019r cyfarfod, gyda chroeso i bawb droi i fyny ar y noson. Mi fydd yna pizza Dominos ar gael yn ddi-dal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Mae modd i unrhyw fyfyriwr cyflwyno syniad i\u2019r cyfarfod ac i\u2019r Undeb o flaen llaw, gan hawlio\u2019r posibiliad i wneud newid i ba fath o ddigwyddiadau sy\u2019n cael ei rhedeg, newid cyfeiriad ar bolisi&#8217;r Undeb ar faterion gwahanol neu hefyd newid sut mae\u2019r undeb yn gweithredu yn gyfan gwbl.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Ymysg y syniadau yn y cyfarfod tro yma yw bod yr Undeb yn mabwysiadu safiad o gefnogiad dros streicio gan ddarlithwyr, sydd ar hyn o bryd yn effeithio ar addysg myfyrwyr nid yn unig yn Aberystwyth, ond hefyd mewn prifysgolion ar draws y Deyrnas Unedig.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Ers dechrau Chwefror mae\u2019r UCU (sef undeb llafur o ddarlithwyr a staff prifysgol ar draws 150 o brifysgolion y DU) wedi bod yn cynnal diwrnodau streicio ble nad ydynt yn gweithio. Mae\u2019r streic yn ymwneud a thal, amodau gwaith a phensiwn. Mi fydd y Mouth of the Ystwyth yn cyhoeddi rhagor o erthyglau ar y sefyllfa yn fuan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Cyflwynwyd y mesur gan Hector Duncan ar y cyd gyda Harry Marsh. Yn y mesur mae\u2019r cynigyddion yn dweud \u2018y cyflymaf y byddwn yn cymeradwyo ac yn cynnull myfyrwyr er budd ac ar gyfer achos staff y brifysgol y fyrraf gallwn obeithio fydd yr anghydfod hwn. Mae\u2019r UM yn elusen sy&#8217;n gweithio er ein lles ni&#8217;r myfyrwyr. Mae o fudd i ni sicrhau bod ein staff prifysgol yn gweithio mewn amodau da.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Nid yw\u2019r Undeb wedi gallu cymryd safle ar y sefyllfa streicio hyd yn hyn. Dywed ar ei gwefan \u2018ein pwrpas yw cynrychioli hawliau a phryderon myfyrwyr fel ein haelodau. Nes iddo ddod yn bolisi gennym, ni all Undeb y Myfyrwyr gymryd safbwynt penodol ar y mater. Serch hynny, rydym ni fel sefydliad aelodaeth wleidyddol yn cefnogi\u2019r hawl i staff yn yr UCU i weithredu ar y materion sydd o bwys iddynt.\u2019&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Mae\u2019r Undeb yn annog myfyriwr i leisio ei barn ar y mater yma a&#8217;r materion arall sy\u2019n cael ei thrafod. Drwy&#8217;r fforymau democratiaeth yma mae&#8217;r Undeb yn gallu darganfod gwir deimlad y myfyrwyr. Yn ogystal \u00e2 streicio yn y cyfarfod bydd y mater o a ddylai\u2019r undeb newid i fancio mwy gwyrdd yn cael ei thrafod yn ogystal ag a ddylai&#8217;r Undeb gorffen ei aelodaeth o NUS UK. Beth bynnag yw eich barn ar y materion dewch i ddweud eich dweud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The Student Union is to hold The Big Meeting on Monday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The SU will hold its Annual General Meeting on Monday 20th February at 6 o&#8217;clock in the main room. This is the meeting where students will be able to lobby the SU to change policy, a forum to discuss policy changes and to vote on the changes that are on the agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>At least 100 students need to be present in the meeting for it to go ahead, everyone is more than welcome to turn up on the night. There will be free pizza from Dominos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Any student is allowed to present in advance an \u2018idea\u2019 to the meeting and to the SU with the possibility of making changes to the type of events that are run, changing the direction of the SU&#8217;s policy on different issues or also changing how it\u2019s run entirely.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Among the ideas at the meeting this time is that the SU adopts a stance that they support the strike by lecturers, which is currently affecting students&#8217; education not only in Aberystwyth but also in Universities across the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Since the beginning of this month the UCU (which is a trade union of lecturers and university staff in the 150 universities) has been holding strike days where they do not work.&nbsp; The strike is about pay, working conditions and pension. The Mouth of the Ystwyth will be publishing more articles on the situation soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The motion was introduced by Hector Duncan and Harry Marsh. In the motion the supporters say \u2018the faster we endorse and mobilise students in aid of the university&#8217;s staff cause, the shorter this dispute hopefully will be. The SU are a charity who work in the interest of us, the students. It is within our interest to ensure that our university staff have good working conditions.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The SU has not been able to take a stance on the strike situation so far. It says on its website that &#8216;we exist to represent the rights and concerns of students as our members. Without policy on strikes the Students\u2019 Union is unable to take a particular stance on this issue, but as a political member organisation ourselves we support the right of staff in UCU to take action on the issues that matter to them.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The SU encourages students to voice their opinion on this issue and the other issues that are being discussed. Through these democracy forums, the SU can know what the student really wants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>As well as striking being an issue, in the meeting other issues that will be part of the agenda will include whether the SU should switch to greener banking as well as whether the SU should disaffiliate with NUS UK.
