Mae’n wythnos etholiad yn yr Undeb Myfyrwyr ac mae gennym ni'r hawl i bleidleisio ar bwy fydd yn rhedeg yr UM y flwyddyn nesaf. Mae gennych chi tan 3yp Dydd Gwener i fwrw eich pleidlais, ac rydych yn gwneud hynny drwy ddilyn y linc sydd wedi cael ei e-bostio i chi bore Dydd Llun gan yr UM. Mae pob pleidlais yn cyfri a gallwch ddarllen ein herthygl arall ar pam mae’n bwysig i bleidleisio ar ein gwefan.
Mae’r Mouth of the Ystwyth wedi gofyn i’r ymgeiswyr sy’n sefyll y cwestiynau pwysig. Ac mewn cyfres o erthyglau rydym yn rhoi i chi'r ymatebion. Heddiw rydym yn dechrau i ffwrdd gyda’r rôl fwyaf yn yr UM sef y Llywydd. Yn nol gwefan yr UM mae’r Llywydd yn “llais cyhoeddus Undeb y Myfyrwyr a myfyrwyr Aberystwyth. Nhw yw prif gynrychiolydd myfyrwyr Prifysgol Aberystwyth, gan eistedd ar wahanol uwch bwyllgorau a chyfarfod ag unigolion allweddol yn rheolaidd i sicrhau perthynas gref rhwng yr Undeb, y Brifysgol a’r gymuned yn ehangach. Mae’n yn sicrhau bod unrhyw ymgyrchoedd a phenderfyniadau’r Undeb yn cael ei gweithredu. Mae’r rôl yn un heriol a buddiol ac mae pob diwrnod yn wahanol.”

Sut fyddech chi’n arweinydd da?
Mae gennyf ddiddordeb mawr yn wleidyddiaeth, ac fel y cyfryw rwyf wedi astudio llawer o arweinwyr mawr hanes ac wedi dysgu llawer o wersi ganddynt, ac yng ngeiriau’r Arlywydd Kennedy; "Mae arweinyddiaeth a dysgu yn anhepgor i'w gilydd". Rwyf hefyd yn berson ymroddedig iawn, (er mae'n debyg y byddai fy rhieni yn dweud fy mod yn ystyfnig) felly credwch fi pan ddywedaf y byddaf yn ymladd popeth i drwsio unrhyw broblemau neu ddatrys unrhyw fater a all godi.
Pam dylid pobl pleidleisio amdanoch chi?
Mae gen i'r math o feddwl strategol creadigol a hirdymor a arweinyddiaeth arloesol ac effeithiol y mae Undeb y Myfyrwyr ei hangen ac y mae'r myfyrwyr y mae'n eu cynrychioli yn ei haeddu. Gallaf addo, os caf fy ethol, y bydd Undeb y myfyrwyr yn dod yn endid ar gyfer,yn cynnwys, a chan y bobl.

Sut fyddech chi’n arweinydd da?
Rwy'n ysu am wneud gwahaniaeth ac rwy'n ymroddedig i wneud hynny. Does gen i ddim ofn sefyll dros yr hyn rydw i'n ei gredu ynddo. Dros y chwe wythnos diwethaf, rydw i wedi gweithio mor galed i redeg ymgyrch i ddangos i bobl Aberystwyth pwy yw Hector a pham rydw i'n sefyll i fod yn Llywydd yr UM. Mae gen i weledigaeth glir o UM a Phrifysgol fwy cynaliadwy, gyda ffocws ar gynyddu ymgysylltiad myfyrwyr â gweithgareddau UM ac UM sy’n ymgyrchu rhagweithiol ar y materion sydd o bwys i chi. Rwy’n credu mewn UM mwy cynaliadwy, rhagweithiol a chefnogol. Hec Yeah!
Pam dylid pobl pleidleisio amdanoch chi?
Rwy'n gyfathrebwr hyderus, yn frwdfrydig ac yn poeni'n wirioneddol am wneud gwahaniaeth i fywydau pobl. Rwy’n credu’n gryf ym mhwysigrwydd grymuso pobl ifanc. Rwyf wedi bod yn rhan weithgar o gymuned Aberystwyth yn fy amser yma. Rwy'n brofiadol, rwyf wedi gweithio i sawl elusen gan gynnwys Leonard Cheshire fel Swyddog Cymorth, MHA a'r ASE. Rwyf wedi gwirfoddoli am gyfnod o saith mis gyda’r elusen datblygu cynaliadwy a yrrir gan bobl ifanc, Raleigh International. Mae pleidlais i Hector yn bleidlais dros UM mwy cynaliadwy, i gynyddu ymgysylltiad myfyrwyr a’r UM ac i rywun a fydd yn sefyll drosoch.

Arloesedd, Cynhwysiant a Buddsoddi.
Sut fyddech chi’n arweinydd da?
Fel myfyriwr aeddfed, rwy'n dod â chyfoeth o brofiad bywyd ac aeddfedrwydd i'm dull o arwain. Rwy’n credu bod arweinyddiaeth effeithiol yn ymwneud â gosod nodau clir, eu cyfathrebu’n glir ac ysbrydoli eraill i’w cyflawni. Rwyf wedi datblygu sgiliau cyfathrebu cryf trwy fy mlynyddoedd o brofiad ac wedi dysgu gwrando'n astud ac empathig ar eraill. Mae fy ngallu i addasu i wahanol sefyllfaoedd a meddwl yn greadigol yn hanfodol os caf fy ethol. Rwy’n deall pwysigrwydd bod yn atebol am fy ngweithredoedd a chymryd cyfrifoldeb am lesiant y rhai yr wyf yn eu harwain.
Pam dylid pobl pleidleisio amdanoch chi?
Rwy'n rhedeg am lywydd UM gyda gweledigaeth o arloesi, cynhwysiant a buddsoddiad. Fel eich ymgeisydd, credaf ei bod yn bwysig bod yn flaengar a chwilio am ffyrdd newydd ac arloesol o wella bywydau myfyrwyr. Rwyf wedi ymrwymo i hyrwyddo cynhwysiant a sicrhau bod pob myfyriwr yn teimlo ei fod yn cael ei werthfawrogi a'i gefnogi. Trwy fuddsoddiad strategol, byddaf yn gweithio i greu cyfleoedd newydd ar gyfer twf a datblygiad myfyrwyr. Mae fy mhrofiad, fy ymroddiad a'm hangerdd dros greu newid cadarnhaol yn fy ngwneud y dewis cywir ar gyfer y rôl hon. Cyfeillgar, Cymhellol a Gweithgar.
Sut fyddech chi’n arweinydd da?
Eleni, rydw i wedi ymuno â dros 10 o gymdeithasau gwahanol ac rydw i wir yn gwneud y gorau o fy nhrydedd flwyddyn. Rwyf am i fwy o fyfyrwyr wneud y mwyaf o'u hamser ym Mhrifysgol Aber. Rwy’n dal nifer o swyddi pwyllgor, hoffwn feddwl fy mod yn chwaraewr tîm dibynadwy, gwydn a gweithgar. Hoffwn weithio o fewn yr UM ochr yn ochr â thîm anhygoel o swyddogion i sicrhau bod y materion sydd o bwys i bob un ohonom yn cael eu clywed a'u trin. Fydd llais neb yn cael ei adael heb ei glywed - mae pob mater sy'n bwysig i chi yn bwysig i mi. Dewch i ni Wneud ein UM yn wych eto!
Pam dylid pobl pleidleisio amdanoch chi?
Dydw i ddim ac ni fyddaf yn gwastraffu amser yn gwneud addewidion na allaf eu cyflawni. Mae pob polisi dwi wedi ei gynnig yn bwysig i mi ac amrywiaeth eang o fyfyrwyr ym Mhrifysgol Aber. Cyfnod byr yw blwyddyn yn y swydd, ond gwn y gellir mynd i’r afael â’r materion hyn a sicrhau canlyniad da. Ni ddylai prifysgol yn y Canolbarth fod yn codi tâl am wersi Cymraeg, a dylai argaeledd fod yn llawer uwch. Ni ddylai bysiau fod mor ddrud, yn enwedig dim ond i deithio i fyny'r bryn. Yn y cyfnod hwn o ansicrwydd ariannol, byddaf yn rhoi mwy o arian yn ôl ym mhoced pob myfyriwr!

Sut fyddech chi’n arweinydd da?
Rydw i bob amser yn rhoi diddordebau pobl o flaen rhai fy hunan gan fy mod yn wrandäwr da. Rwy’n gallu cymryd beirniadaeth a’i defnyddio er mantais i mi i wella fy hun. Gallaf gamu’n ôl ac asesu sefyllfa os ydynt yn benderfyniad anodd y mae angen ei wneud.
Pam dylid pobl pleidleisio amdanoch chi?
Dylai pobl bleidleisio i mi oherwydd fy mod yn fodlon mynd i'r lleuad i wneud yn siŵr fy mod yn gallu cyflawni fy mholisïau. Rwy’n canolbwyntio ar bob agwedd o fywyd myfyriwr a fy mreuddwyd yw creu cymuned myfyrwyr ddiwylliannol a chynhwysol.

It's election week in the Students' Union and we have the right to vote on who will run the SU next year. You have until 3pm on Friday to cast your vote, and you can do so by following the link that has been emailed to you on Monday morning from the SU. Every vote counts and you can read our other article on our website on why it's important to vote.
The Mouth of the Ystwyth has asked the candidates who are standing the important questions. And in a series of articles we give you the responses. Today we start off with the biggest role in the SU which is the President. According to the SU website the President is "the public voice of the Students' Union and the students of Aberystwyth. They are the main student representative of Aberystwyth University, sitting on various senior committees and meeting with key individuals regularly to ensure a strong relationship between the Union, the University and the wider community. They ensure that any campaigns and decisions of the Union are implemented. It is a challenging and rewarding role and every day is different."

Benjamin Cramp
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Dedicated, Creative and strategic.
What would make you a good leader?
I have a keen interest in both politics, and as such have studied many of the great leaders of history and have learned many lessons from them, and in the words of President Kennedy; "Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other". I am also a very dedicated person, (though my parents would probably say stubborn) so believe me when I say that I will fight tooth and nail to fix any problems or resolve any issue that may arise.
Why should people vote for you?
I possess the kind of creative and long-term strategic thinking that innovative and effective leadership that the Students Union requires and the students it represents deserve. I can promise that should I be elected, the students Union will become a body for, of, and by the people.
Hector Duncan
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Caring, Compassionate and Enthusiastic.
What would make you a good leader?
I care about making a difference and I'm dedicated to doing so. I'm not afraid to stand up for what I believe in. Over the last six weeks, I have worked so hard to run a campaign to show the people of Aberystwyth who Hector is and why I'm standing to be your SU President. I have a clear vision of a more sustainable SU and University, with a focus on increasing student engagement with SU activities and a proactive SU campaigning on the issues that matter to you. I believe in a more sustainable, proactive, and supportive SU. Hec Yeah!
Why should people vote for you?
I'm a confident communicator, enthusiastic and genuinely care about making a difference to people's lives. I strongly believe in the importance of empowering young people. I have been an active part of the Aberystwyth community in my time here. I'm experienced, I have worked for several charities including Leonard Cheshire as a Support Worker, MHA and the ASE. I have volunteered cumulatively seven months with the youth-driven sustainable development charity Raleigh International. A vote for Hector is a vote for a more sustainable SU, to increase student engagement with the SU and for someone who will stand up for you.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Innovation, Inclusion and Investment.
What would make you a good leader?
As a mature student, I bring a wealth of life experience and maturity to my leadership style. I believe that effective leadership is about setting clear goals, communicating them clearly and inspiring others to achieve them. I have developed strong communication skills through my years of experience and have learned to listen actively and empathetic to others. My ability to adapt to different situations and think creatively is vital should I be elected. I understand the importance of being accountable for my actions and taking responsibility for the well-being of those I lead.
Why should people vote for you?
I am running for SU president with a vision of innovation, inclusion, and investment. As your candidate, I believe that it is important to be forward-thinking and in seeking new and innovative ways to improve the lives of students. I am committed to promoting inclusivity and ensuring that every student feels valued and supported. Through strategic investment, I will work to create new opportunities for student growth and development. My experience, dedication, and passion for creating positive change make me the right choice for this role. Vote for me and together we can build a brighter future for all students.
Tom Mumford
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Friendly, Motivated and Hardworking.
What would make you a good leader?
This year, I have joined over 10 different societies and am really making the most of my third year. I want more students to make the most out of their time at Aber Uni. Holding several committee positions, I'd like to think I am a trustworthy, resilient, and hardworking team player. I'd like to work within the SU and alongside an amazing team of officers to ensure the issues that matter to each of us are heard and tackled. Nobody's voice will be left unheard - every issue that is important to you is important to me. Let's Make our SU great again!
Why should people vote for you?
I don't and won't waste time making promises that I can't fulfil. Every policy I have proposed is important to me and a wide variety of students at Aber Uni. A year in office is a short time, but I know that these issues can be tackled and to a good outcome. A university in Mid-Wales should not be charging for Welsh lessons, and availability should be much higher. Buses should not be as expensive as they are, especially just to travel up the hill. In this time of financial uncertainty, I will put more money back into every student's pocket!

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Determined, Helpful and Open.
What would make you a good leader?
I always put people’s interests before mine as I am a good listener. I am able to take criticism and use it to my advantage to improve myself. I am able to step back and assess a situation if there's a difficult decision that needs to be made.
Why should people vote for you?
People should vote for me because I am willing to go to the moon and back to make sure I can fulfil my policies. I am focused on all aspects of student life and it is my dream to create a cultural and inclusive student community.
